Dr. Prabhukumar KM is working in the field of taxonomy, nomenclature and molecular systematics of plants. Well experienced in the identification of plants and preparation of conservation protocols especially on medicinal and RET species as a member of IUCN Species Survival Commission. Having expertise on the angiosperm families Balsaminaceae, Zingiberaceae, Acanthaceae, Rubiaceae, Celastraceae, Asparagaceae and Apiaceae. Presently focusing on the family Balsaminaceae on different aspects such as taxonomy, nomenclature, phylogeny, character evolution, medicinal importance and conservation protocols of species in Indian Subcontinent region. Apart from Balsaminaceae, revising the genera Clematis, Gymnosporia, Campanula and Tribulus using morphological and molecular tools.
