- Kesari is a high-yielding (>35 t/ha fresh rhizome) turmeric variety suitable for the northern region of India due to its tolerance to low temperatures and resistance to foliar diseases.
- Leaf essential oil content ranges from 0.6-1.2%, comprising bioactive compounds such as α-Phellandrenes (34.04%), p-Cymene (17.31%), and p-Mentha-1,4(8), diene (17.26%). Rhizome oil content is 1.9%.
- Mainly used for its insecticidal and pesticidal properties.
